Are Johnny and Vanessa getting married?

MYJD1.jpg picture by DeppLoverForever  MYJD2.jpg picture by DeppLoverForever

A source in the family says that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis might get married soon on June 14th this year in Georgie,Florida.

Added fuel to the previously existent wedding talk, Johnny Depp is said to have been planning to wed Vanessa Paradis on June 14 later this year. The pair, who have been together for ten years and already had two children together, have always insisted they don't feel the need to make their relationship official, but French singer Vanessa is now keen to walk down the aisle.

Vanessa recently told Johnny she'd like to get married, a source close to the Paradis-Depp family has stated. And Johnny, being the amazing man he is, is willing to make it happen. "Johnny loves Vanessa very much, and he said if that's what would make her happy, then he'd marry her," the source added.

The wedding reportedly will likely take place in Georgia's Tybee Island since "They wanted to make it convenient for Johnny's family in Florida." Depp and Vanessa's children, Lily-Rose and Jack meanwhile "are really excited about it. Actually the whole family is excited," the source went on saying.

Invitations, still according to the same source, will be sent out in a few weeks.

Depp who previously was married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison in the 80s, has previously said of his relationship with Vanessa, "For all intents and purposes, we are married," adding that, "if [Vanessa] ever said, 'Hey, let's get hitched,' I would do it in a second."

No official verification nor denial issued by the couple and their camps just yet.

Shantaram Is Definitely On

a6.jpg picture by adeleparadis   a5.jpg picture by adeleparadis

While a section of the media is going to town saying Mira Nair's adaptation of Gregory David Roberts' bestseller Shantaram has been shelved due to Johnny Depp's fancy fee, the director assures that the project is "very much on". Reacting with her usual chortle of incredulity, Mira says, "Alas, we have been stalled temporarily due to the crippling nature of the writers' strike in Hollywood."

"Johnny Depp assures me that this is just a pause, and that we'll start again once the strike is resolved. I've spent a year of creative endeavour in realising Shantaram, so I look forward to the time when it will all come together," Mira told IANS. The heavy-duty cast, which initially boasted of Amitabh Bachchan and Johnny Depp, now has Konkona Sen Sharma among a host of others. Divulges Mira: "In addition to Johnny Depp and Amitabh Bachchan, I'd confirmed Irrfan Khan in a major role, and Konkona Sen for one big dramatic scene."

"I've also been in talks with Prabhu Deva, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Ranvir Sheorey. I'd also love to work with Pankaj Kapoor. We have such an extraordinary bunch of great actors in India!" But now, as Shantaram gets postponed till the end of 2008, Mira prepares to do a Broadway-styled stage adaptation of her critically acclaimed film Monsoon Wedding.

Depp name top autograph signer

a1.jpg picture by adeleparadis   a2.jpg picture by adeleparadis

Johnny Depp, take a bow. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star who turns menacing in his new role as murderous barber Sweeney Todd, has been named the best celebrity autograph signer for the third year running.

Depp, 44, and "The Bourne Ultimatum" star Matt Damon were rated as the best Hollywood signers in the 15th annual survey of who's cool -- and who's cruel -- to autograph collectors by Autograph magazine. And the worst? Comedian Will Ferrell and Tobey Maguire.

"It's the third consecutive year Depp has topped the list of the 10 best signers. Whether at a premiere, in a restaurant or on location, Depp may just be the best Hollywood autograph signer of all time," Steve Cyrkin, the magazine's editor and publisher, said in a statement. Johnny Depp in January's Esquire Magazine

a3.jpg picture by adeleparadis   a4.jpg picture by adeleparadis

To Johnny Depp, freedom means simplicity and anonymity. "I'm sure it will be a possibility someday again. Maybe when I get old. They get tired of you," the actor tells Esquire magazine in its January issue, available Friday. "`Didn't you used to be Johnny Depp?' That will be the clincher."

The 44-year-old star of "Sweeney Todd," which opens Christmas Day, talked with the magazine about the lessons he's learned over his two decades in Hollywood. His friend and mentor Marlon Brando taught Depp to keep his private life private. "That's your world and it's nobody else's business," he recalls Brando saying. "It's not anybody's entertainment." A self-described people-watcher, Depp says he's learned to enter restaurants through the kitchen and hotels through the parking garage. "It'll definitely make you a little weird if you're constantly being stared at," he says.

While he loves his work, Depp says he's "not a great fan of all the stuff that goes along with it. I don't want to be a product," he says. "Of course you want the movies to do well. But I don't want to know ... who's hot now and who's not and who's making this much dough and who's boffing this woman or that one. I want to remain ignorant of all this. I want to be totally outside and far away from all of it."

Depp signs on to play Mooresville's Dillinger

a9.jpg picture by adeleparadis   a10.jpg picture by adeleparadis

Mega-movie star Johnny Depp in Mooresville? It may seem like a crazy concept, but given this week's news, not entirely out of the question. According to various trade magazines, including Variety, Academy Award nominees Johnny Depp and director Michael Mann have agreed to join a movie based on the 2005 Bryan Burrough book "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-1934." Depp will play John Dillinger, the most notorious gangster of the era. Dillinger grew up in Mooresville before entering into a life of crime. Mann has directed many films, including "Last of the Mohicans," "Heat," and "Ali." Most recently, he directed the movie remake of the television show he produced, "Miami Vice."

According to Variety, Mann and Depp had a handshake agreement to the project shortly before the Hollywood premiere of Depp's most recent film, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." The project is due to start on March 10, 2008. Chicago will be the central filming location, and there is no word on whether any scenes will be filmed in Mooresville. Check the Mooresville-Decatur Times for any updates.

Johnny graces the cover of GQ's: The 50 Most Stylish Men issue

zzf.jpg picture by adeleparadis   zzg.jpg picture by adeleparadis

After almost a quarter century in front of the camera, Johnny Depp has shown us everything but himself. Not an easy task when you’ve got those cheekbones, that tousled hair, and an unmitigated youthfulness, which Depp has worked hard to cloak by playing reclusive savants and rock ’n’ roll pirates. But we keep searching, trying to nail down his hobo chic—a style that derives from a life spent kicking around the dusty South and the French countryside. “I don’t think he’s remotely interested in fashion. He’s a complete instigator of fashion,” says Penny Rose, the costume designer who collaborated with the actor to create Pirates of the Caribbean’s randy Jack Sparrow. “His look is always eye-stopping, clever, and completely individual.” Or, like the last two drags on one of his hand-rolled cigarettes, raw and unapologetically gratifying.

• A tweak here and there can elevate even the simplest outfits. Notice the rolled-up sleeves, the neckpiece, the beat-up boots instead of sneakers. Small moves like these separate you from the pack.

'SWEENEY TODD' GETS A CHRISTMAS OPENING DATE

zzz.jpg picture by myjohnnydepp_com   zz.jpg picture by myjohnnydepp_com

The original plan was to release Tim Burton’s adaptation of the musical SWEENEY TODD, starring Johnny Depp as the eponymous demon barber of Fleet Street and Helena Bonham Carter as Mrs. Lovett, the woman who cooks up Mr. Todd’s victims, on a limited basis on December 21. But apparently, those folks over at DreamWorks started seeing what’s been completed of it and, well, gosh, they were so moved by the Christmas spirit of the little tale that they’ve decided to release it everywhere on that date. Actually, they saw that it had more commercial appeal than they’d previously thought, proving that none of them had ever seen the original musical. They’re currently not thinking of releasing the R-rated movie on more than 1500 screens initially, but who knows when the Christmas spirit will hit them again?

Captain Jack Sparrow was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was named best movie and its star, Johnny Depp, won for best performance. Depp joined "Pirates" producer Jerry Bruckheimer to accept the Golden Popcorn trophy.

"This is the man who did it all right here, Johnny Depp," Bruckheimer said. "Without him, we wouldn't be here."

"I'd like to thank this man and Disney for not firing me first," Depp quipped.

Pirates 3 Premiere at Disneyland

zw.jpg   zv.jpg

Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom received a near-hysterical reception from pirate fans at the world premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End.

Die-hard fans queued outside Disneyland overnight to bag themselves a prime spot on the red carpet. However they, and the world's media, had a long wait on their hands to catch a glimpse Captain Jack Sparrow. Due to the sheer number of press interviews the actors had to give, it wasn't until almost four hours into the premiere that Orlando, then finally Johnny made it around to where fans were waiting, and by which time the atmosphere was feverish.

Orlando abandoned interviews to sign autographs and hug fans, reducing several girls to tears. Despite being told to hurry through the actor insisted on greeting those who had waited patiently, and as fans around the park chanted his name, he even stopped to wave to those who he couldn't get near.

Then, shortly after, Johnny - the man everyone had been waiting for - headed straight over to greet the crowds. Dressed in jeans and a leather jacket, the actor decided he'd had his fix of giving interviews and would speak only to fans. Hiding under his chin length mop of brown hair he turned his back to TV cameras, and it was only after much protesting and chants from fans waiting behind the crews that he briefly turned his head around to wave.

If the support at the premiere is any judge, the third instalment of the blockbuster trilogy - which also stars Keith Richards and Naomie Harris - should draw the crowds.

It's about slime!

zs.jpg   zr.jpg

Forget the trophies. The Kids' Choice Awards will dole out crazy fun Saturday night.

The whole idea of conducting the "Kids' Choice Awards" might seem a bit absurd. Being so young, kids know less than everybody else on the planet, so many adult award-watchers must wonder: Who cares what they think about the best of anything? Answer: You should, because kids' views are always fun to hear and -- here's the punch line -- their awards show, now 20 years old, has grown up to be a big deal. Last year the telecast attracted nearly 6 million viewers on Nickelodeon, which is roughly the same audience size as the "Tony Awards" on CBS and "Daytime Emmys" on ABC.

Despite being nominated, Johnny Depp skipped the recent Golden Globes, but he'll be showing up for the kiddies even though they ambushed him with green slime the last time he joined them. Justin Timberlake has taken a green shower on stage, too, but the two-time winner of the best burp award (he beat Hugh Jackman last year) not only returns victorious, but presides as host.
